Resize Image to 1080×1080 Online Free: Instagram-Ready

Instagram launched in 2010 with square-only photos (640×640, then 1080×1080 as displays improved). Even though the platform now accepts 4:5 portrait and 1.91:1 landscape, the square is still the highest-engagement format for feed posts. 1080×1080 became the de facto standard, and other platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) adopted it for their square formats too. Centre-crop: take a 1:1 region from the centre of the image, discarding edges. Best for portraits and photos where the subject is centred. Instagram automatically downscales anything bigger than 1080×1080, uploading 2160×2160 saves bandwidth on your end and looks identical on the recipient's screen, but Instagram makes the decision regardless. Hitting exactly 1080×1080 means the tool you use renders the photo, not Instagram's compression service.
